Job Description
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager, the Night Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the hotel during the night shift. You'll supervise our Night Auditor, act as the senior leader on duty overnight, and work within a friendly, supportive and collaborative Front Office team that is passionate about guest service.
This is a full-time position working overnight shifts, generally from 11:00pm to 7:00am, including weekends and public holidays as required.
Salary: $79,521 per annum, in line with the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the nightly operations of the hotel, ensuring all departments function effectively
- Manage guest relations and resolve any questions, concerns or issues that arise during the night shift
- Deliver exceptional service through efficient check-ins, check-outs and guest interactions
- Supervise and support the Night Auditor, ensuring all nightly processes are completed accurately
- Conduct and review night audit procedures, ensuring financial transactions and reports are correct
- Lead and develop the overnight team, fostering a positive and professional working environment
- Conduct regular property inspections to maintain the safety and security of guests, team members and hotel assets
- Work closely with other departments to ensure guest needs are met, including coordinating in-room dining requests where required
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fire alarms and security concerns
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures and brand standards
- Prepare detailed handover reports and communicate operational matters to the Rooms Division Manager and day teams

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will be a proactive hospitality professional who enjoys taking ownership, leading by example and creating memorable guest experiences.
You will possess:
- Previous experience in a hotel Front Office environment
- Experience as a Night Manager, Assistant Manager or a highly capable Night Auditor ready to take the next step in their career
- Strong leadership and team supervision skills
- A genuine passion for guest service and creating positive guest experiences
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests and colleagues alike
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges
- Knowledge of hotel management systems such as Opera and basic accounting skills related to night audit functions
- The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts including weekends and public holidays (generally 11:00pm to 7:00am)
- Current First Aid and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, or willingness to obtain
- Full working rights in Australia, including the ability to work full-time hours
