Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Duty Engineer to join our dynamic team in Gurugram, India. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily facility operations, ensuring optimal performance of critical building systems, and leading a dedicated maintenance team. As a Duty Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering exceptional service standards across all facility functions.
- Plan and supervise daily operations, maintenance programs, and staff assignments to ensure seamless facility functionality
- Manage and troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems, responding promptly to technical issues and emergency repairs
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines
- Prepare and analyze consumption reports to identify efficiency improvements and optimize resource utilization
- Lead and develop team members through performance reviews, onboarding programs, and continuous training initiatives
- Prepare weekly staff schedules that balance operational requirements with budgetary constraints
- Ensure strict compliance with facility policies, fire and life safety procedures, and all applicable regulatory standards
- Conduct preventive maintenance planning and documentation to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
- Monitor and control maintenance budgets, tracking expenses and recommending cost-saving measures
- Maintain transparent communication with management and stakeholders regarding operational status and facility performance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management to support organizational goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline)
- Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance, hotel operations, or building management
- Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing infrastructure, and fire safety protocols
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and manage emergency repairs efficiently
- Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a detail-oriented approach
- Proficient communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Leadership experience managing and motivating maintenance staff
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and facility management best practices
- Knowledge of safety compliance standards and regulatory requirements for building operations
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as operational needs require
- Proficiency in using facility management software and basic computer applications
- Strong documentation and reporting skills with attention to accuracy and clarity
