Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CDP Butchery professional to join our meat processing team in Baghdad, Iraq. In this role, you will be responsible for butchering, processing, and preparing high-quality meat products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to deliver consistent, quality results that meet our customers' specifications and expectations.
- Butcher and process meat products using industry-standard tools and techniques with precision and efficiency
- Prepare meat cuts according to customer specifications and quality standards
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene protocols in compliance with local and international regulations
- Operate and maintain butchery equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, sharp, and properly sanitized
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, rotating products using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods, and minimizing waste
- Organize and maintain a clean, organized workspace that meets health and safety requirements
- Perform quality control checks on all meat products before packaging and distribution
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures for all meat products, particularly in cold storage environments
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines
- Report any equipment malfunctions or food safety concerns to management immediately
Qualifications
- Proven experience in butchery, meat processing, or a related food production role
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meat handling
- Proficiency with butchery tools, equipment, and machinery (saws, grinders, slicers, etc.)
- Solid understanding of different meat grades, cuts, and processing techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks in a cold environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment
- Preferred: Food handling or food safety certification
- Preferred: Experience with meat grading systems and classification standards
- Preferred: Supervisory or mentoring experience in a butchery or food production setting
