Job Description
**Responsibilities**
**Planning and Organisation:**
- Demonstrate exemplary teamwork and collaboration during preventive maintenance operations and service works
- Foster a professional and focused working environment within the team
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality
- Mentor and develop staff members through knowledge and skills transfer
- Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of all hotel operations
- Adhere strictly to Operational Standards Manual (OSM) requirements and company values
- Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards at all times
- Participate in mandatory training programmes as scheduled
- Demonstrate consistent cooperation and respect across all departments
- Analyse operational challenges and develop effective solutions to ensure timely, high-quality task completion
**Operations:**
- Operate and maintain boiler systems to supply and regulate steam or heat for buildings, marine vessels, and pneumatic tool operations
- Monitor and control gauges to regulate heat and steam output, ensuring optimal equipment functionality
- Conduct regular testing of samples using designated testing devices to verify compliance with specifications
- Obtain and transport samples from designated boiler locations to the testing laboratory
- Record all test results on specified documentation and report findings to management
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment malfunctions through systematic monitoring and analysis
- Execute preventive maintenance protocols and troubleshoot operational issues
- Propose recommendations for equipment performance improvement and maintenance optimisation
- Operate all systems in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to protect guests, employees, and the environment
- Adhere to all hotel environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
**Administration:**
- Maintain thorough familiarity with hotel emergency procedures and remain prepared for emergency response
- Ensure comprehensive knowledge of all relevant operational documentation and the Operational Standards Manual
- Comply with company values and OSM standards in all duties and responsibilities
- Analyse problems systematically and develop action plans to ensure efficient, quality-focused task execution
Qualifications
**Qualifications**
**Required:**
- 1 to 2 years' experience operating and maintaining boiler systems in a 5-star hotel or similar hospitality environment
- Proven knowledge of steam and heat regulation systems, including gauge monitoring and control
- Demonstrated understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance regulations
- Ability to conduct systematic equipment testing and record accurate results
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills across all departments
- Familiarity with Operational Standards Manual (OSM) requirements and industry best practices
**Preferred:**
- Formal certification or qualification in boiler operation or plant engineering
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and execution
- Knowledge of pneumatic tool operations and associated systems
- Demonstrated experience in staff mentoring and knowledge transfer
- Previous experience responding to emergency procedures in a hospitality setting
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed operational documentation and records
- Understanding of environmental sustainability practices within hotel operations
