Job Description
Job Functions
· Separate, sort, process, wash, dry, fold, and distribute all hotel linen and uniforms according to established standards.
· Operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
· Process guest laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing requests.
· Maintain laundry production records and poundage reports.
· Inspect linen and uniforms for cleanliness, quality, stains, and damage.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility.
Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and operational concerns.
· Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual linen inventories.
· Maintain linen par levels to support hotel operations.
· Monitor linen usage, discard rates, losses, and replacement needs.
· Investigate linen inventory variances and communicate findings to management.
· Verify incoming and outgoing linen counts with laundry vendors.
· Reconcile vendor deliveries and invoices against inventory records.
· Maintain accurate inventory records and produce linen loss and usage reports.
· Ensure proper linen rotation and storage practices.
· Issue, collect, exchange, and track colleague uniforms.
· Maintain accurate records of uniform assignments, returns, replacements, and inventory levels.
· Coordinate uniform fittings for new hires and existing colleagues.
· Conduct periodic uniform audits and inventory reconciliations.
· Monitor and report lost, damaged, or unreturned uniforms.
· Ensure uniforms meet company appearance and presentation standards.
· Organize and maintain uniform storage areas.
· Perform alterations, fittings, hemming, repairs, and adjustments for colleague uniforms.
· Repair and replace buttons, zippers, snaps, patches, and other garment components.
· Measure colleagues and ensure proper garment fit.
· Repair hotel textiles including bed skirts, curtains, drapes, decorative pillows, tablecloths, napkins, and specialty fabric items.
· Maintain sewing equipment and inventory of tailoring supplies.
· Complete alteration and repair requests in a timely manner.
· Maintain accurate records within inventory tracking systems.
· Prepare reports related to:
Linen inventory
Linen loss and discard trends
Uniform inventory
Uniform replacement costs
Alterations completed
Vendor discrepancies
· Assist management with budgeting and forecasting for linen and uniform purchases.
· Monitor department expenditures related to linen and uniform replacement.
· Assist with vendor audits and annual physical inventories.
· Follow all OSHA, health, sanitation, and safety standards.
· Use chemicals, equipment, and machinery according to manufacturer and company guidelines.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
· Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- High School graduate or equivalent is preferred.
- Ability to:

- Successfully complete the training /certification process for this position.
- Ability to follow directions, perform tasks with attention to detail, speed accuracy, and follow-through.
- Must have ability to secure minimum levels of skills and abilities that would allow for a proficient job orientation based on specific tasks and methods. This is to provide a safe working environment according to OSHA regulations that would protect both the employee and coworkers.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills, must be able to communicate with others effectively
- Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
