Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis I - Western to join our culinary team in Lucknow, India. As an entry-level position in our kitchen, the Commis I will assist in the preparation and cooking of Western cuisine dishes while learning and developing essential culinary skills.

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Western dishes, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
  • Support senior chefs in cooking and plating Western cuisine menu items
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Learn and apply basic Western cooking techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs
  • Assist in the proper storage and labeling of ingredients and prepared foods
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
  • Help with kitchen inventory and restocking supplies as needed
  • Adapt Western recipes to incorporate local ingredients and cater to local preferences in Lucknow
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and contribute ideas for menu improvements
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas

Qualifications

  • HM diploma / Degree or equivalent required; culinary school diploma or certificate preferred
  • Basic knife skills and knowledge of Western cooking techniques
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and its proper use

Additional Information

2-3 Years of experience in hotel catering sales.
