This role creates the frameworks, processes, and visibility needed to align strategic priorities with organizational capacity and enable effective decision-making across APS.

Serving as the operational leader for the APS ALIGN intake and planning process, the Associate Director provides end-to-end portfolio visibility, facilitates leadership governance and prioritization, and ensures initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives, available resources, and delivery capacity. The role partners extensively with APS leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategic direction into actionable priorities, manage dependencies and trade-offs, and drive execution of key commitments.

The Associate Director also advances APS portfolio management capabilities, maintains critical planning and reporting processes, and drives adoption of tools and ways of working that support transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.

  • Enterprise Capacity Planning & Coordination: Establish and facilitate an integrated approach to capacity planning across APS, ensuring organizational commitments are informed by functional resource availability and competing demands.
  • Capacity Planning Framework: Develop standardized approaches, tools, and planning cadences that enable functional leaders to assess capacity against enterprise priorities.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Lead the coordination of capacity planning across functional leaders, integrating their assessments to identify organizational constraints, dependencies, and potential resource conflicts.
  • Demand and Capacity Visibility: Consolidate functional capacity inputs to provide enterprise-level visibility into anticipated demand, available capacity, and potential execution risks.
  • Scenario Planning: Support leadership in evaluating prioritization, timing, and sequencing alternatives when enterprise demand exceeds available capacity.
  • Leadership Accountability: Facilitate capacity planning discussions and establish expectations for timely, accurate inputs while maintaining functional leaders' accountability for their own resource allocation and capacity management.

  • Organizational Planning & Enablement: Lead organizational planning processes and coordination mechanisms that enable effective collaboration, communication, and operational continuity across APS.
  • Organizational Onboarding: Establish and coordinate standardized onboarding processes for new team members and leaders, ensuring effective integration into APS structures, priorities, governance processes, and ways of working.
  • Organizational Connectivity: Oversee the governance and maintenance of organizational distribution lists, stakeholder directories, and communication structures to support accurate, efficient information sharing.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate intra-team and cross-functional stakeholder alignment, ensuring clarity regarding roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and organizational interfaces.
