At AbbVie, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician with a focus on Metrology to join our team.

In this role, you will help ensure the availability, reliability, and compliance of production, laboratory, and utility equipment across the site. You will be responsible for performing and documenting preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration, verification, troubleshooting, and repair activities on measurement and control instruments, while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Practice (GxP) requirements, internal procedures, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards, and applicable metrology guidelines.

You will also play a key role in supporting investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and the installation and qualification of new or modified equipment, contributing to the operational excellence and quality standards that support AbbVie's mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work orders on equipment, facilities, and utilities, ensuring their safe and reliable return to service.
• Perform calibration, verification, adjustment, and functional testing of measurement and testing equipment, including temperature, pressure, flow, level, mass, humidity, conductivity, pH, and other relevant parameters.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, and instrumentation failures; repair or replace defective components and accurately document all interventions.
• Ensure metrological traceability of standards and instruments, verify calibration status and certificate validity, and report any situation that could impact quality or compliance.
• In the event of out-of-tolerance results, secure the affected equipment, record all relevant data, contribute to impact assessments, and participate in investigations, root cause analyses, and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) activities.
• Complete work orders, records, certificates, and documentation accurately and on time within the computerized maintenance and metrology management systems.
• Coordinate external service providers when required; verify the quality of services delivered and the compliance of associated documentation.
• Provide technical support to Production, Quality, and Laboratory teams, particularly during investigations, qualifications, equipment commissioning, and modification projects.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance and calibration plans, criticality assessments, equipment reliability programs, standardization initiatives, and optimization of intervention frequencies.
• Comply with GMP/GxP procedures, data integrity requirements, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards; maintain tools, standards, and work areas in good condition and complete all required training.
• Maintain work areas, tools, and spare parts in a condition consistent with cleanliness requirements, contamination prevention measures, and foreign matter control standards.
• Ensure all required training is completed before performing GMP-related tasks and actively contribute to audits, inspections, and periodic reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Technical secondary education diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or an equivalent discipline.
• Relevant experience in industrial maintenance and/or metrology; experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, food manufacturing, or other regulated environments is an asset.
• Practical knowledge of calibration principles, measurement uncertainty, tolerances, traceability, and measurement and test equipment management.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, process diagrams, technical manuals, specifications, and procedures.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques and the safe use of measuring instruments, calibration standards, and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of GMP/GxP requirements, data integrity principles, and good documentation practices; familiarity with ISO 17025 is desirable.
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Maximo, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in French, with the ability to read and work with technical documentation in English.
