Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our Loyalty Development Team in Madrid. In this role, you will work on key products that are central to Zooplus’ growth while collaborating in an agile, friendly, and international environment. You’ll be part of a team where Scrum is fully embraced across the organization, pair programming and peer reviews are integral to how we work, and continuous learning is strongly supported through training, conferences, and courses.

Your Responsibilities:

In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend services for our loyalty products while contributing across the entire stack, including architecture, databases, and DevOps. You’ll apply clean code principles, continuous delivery practices, and a DevOps mindset to help shape the product’s architecture and drive meaningful business impact. You will mentor team members to promote shared knowledge and collaborate closely with teams located in Madrid, Krakow, and Munich.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • Solid experience with Java 8+; Kotlin is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with React and willingness to contribute to frontend development.

  • Solid knowledge of relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

  • Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding of clean code, design patterns, and CI/CD practices.

  • Fluent in English at a business level.
