With a commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence, we are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Director of Procurement Excellence to lead our Purchase Steering team and drive strategic initiatives that enhance our procurement processes, supplier relationships, and overall supply chain efficiency.

Job Description

As the Director of Procurement Excellence, you will play a critical role in automating and optimizing our procurement operations and ensuring the timely listing and cost-effective sourcing of products. You will lead a team of procurement support professionals and work closely with cross-functional departments to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals. Your expertise will be instrumental in achieving procurement efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining product quality while nurturing relationships with vendor management teams and suppliers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that supports the company's growth and objectives. Collaborate with vendor management, finance, and operations to align procurement goals with overall business goals.
  2. Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with the vendor management team, helping drive standardization in terms and conditions negotiations to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery. Monitor supplier performance and support implementation of improvement plans as needed.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of of 20 professionals in three countries. Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and expertise.
  4. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline procurement processes, from sourcing to payment (S2P), to ensure operational efficiency and cost savings. Implement best practices and leverage technology (generative AI and ML) to drive automation and standardization.
  5. Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices related to procurement. Apply this knowledge to develop innovative procurement strategies and stay ahead of market changes.
  6. Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions, geopolitical issues, and regulatory changes. Develop contingency plans to maintain continuity of supply.
  7. Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data analytics to make informed procurement decisions. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Vendor Management, Operations, Finance, and Logistics to ensure seamless integration of procurement processes with other business functions.
  9. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team and across the organization. Lead initiatives to drive innovation, cost savings, and sustainability in procurement practices.
  10. Ethical Sourcing: Ensure compliance with ethical sourcing practices, sustainability goals, and responsible procurement standards. Uphold the company's commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement in B2C or retail, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, procurement technology, and market trends.
  • Proven track record of optimizing procurement operations, reducing costs, and enhancing supplier relationships.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, data analytics, and supply chain management tools. Experience with ML and Generative AI preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or CPM are a plus.
