We are looking for an exceptional Team Lead Vendor Management who will increase the commercial performance of third-party brands within accessories. Leading and developing a high-performing international team, you will be the main driver in bringing the role of Branded Accessories for zooplus to the next level by defining supplier and portfolio strategy, thus, having a great impact on the success of the business.

As the Team Lead Vendor Management, your responsibilities will include:

  • Functional and disciplinary management of category management and purchasing teams within branded accessories
  • Defining and implementing category and team strategy in accordance with overall departmental and company objectives including vendor selection, portfolio growth, promotional activities
  • Taking holistic responsibility for the account management of third-party vendors including contracts, commercial terms, product and portfolio management, marketing, and promotions
  • Ensuring the achievement of P&L and KPI targets for branded accessories – particularly key commercial targets such as net sales, margin, portfolio, liquidity and promotional activities
  • Defining a supplier strategy including sourcing channels, operational optimization and planning
  • Managing supplier relationships, driving strategic vendor negotiations and functioning as an escalation level
  • Leading and supporting diverse team functions into a cohesive business unit
  • Establishing bottom-up negotiation, selection, and convenience goals for vendor management that deliver long-term positive results
  • Displaying a holistic commercial approach within a complex international e-commerce environment
  • Setting direction and aligning the vendor management team to drive category selection and growth strategies; developing processes to audit team inputs
  • Performing quantitative analyses and deep-diving to identify growth opportunities and corrective actions
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams on systems and processes improvement initiatives to support business needs
  • Effective management of projects and agendas across a broad range of cross-functional teams ensuring alignment with peer departments
  • Functioning as the key contact person for internal stakeholders with regards to performance of branded accessories

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in a business-related discipline, ideally master’s degree in business administration (MBA)
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in a strategic and operational function in Vendor Management, Purchasing, Category Management, ideally in FMCG-retail or e-commerce environment
  • Experience with account management of a diverse and global vendor network, development of sourcing channels, and multi-national stakeholders is a prerequisite
  • Good knowledge of international channel, sales, and marketing strategies – ideally in an e-commerce framework
  • Fundamental professional experience in category management, portfolio selection, brand positioning, and purchasing in a retail environment – ideally e-commerce
  • Profound knowledge in quantitative and root-cause analyses paired with rational decision-making
  • Ability to integrate data analysis and business rationale into decision making
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders and function in a high-energy, fast-paced and change-driven environment
  • Experience in leading a team encompassing multiple functions / locations
  • Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating
  • Fluent German and English language skills
