Job Description
Our Finance Operations team are responsible for managing the financial transactions that flow in and out of Z and with one of our team heading off on their parental leave journey we are seeking the newest member of the Z whānau!
As Kaiārahi Hokohoko Purchasing Lead you will support across Z with all things purchasing - upskilling our people, enhancing systems, supporting with Purchase Orders, translating business needs into the purchasing system and more. The role is a mix of reactive and proactive support as well as financial tasks.
This is a fixed term parental leave cover starting early/mid-May 2025 through to June 2026 including a handover period.
You will have the opportunity to
- Work as the owner for all continuous improvements and change management associated with purchasing at Z
- Support across the business to apply Z’s preferred method of purchasing and ensure effective controls are in place
- Provide training for new and existing Z’ers, upskilling our people in purchasing best practice and the ApprovalPlus system
- Form strong working relationships with purchasing users and our AP team to streamline and optimise the purchasing process
- This role is also responsible for ensuring Z’s self-serve network cash reconciliations are processed, sites are set up correctly and our systems are operating at scale
Qualifications
What you’ll bring to Z
- Excellent relationship building skills and a service driven mindset, you will work across our business supporting a range of stakeholders
- A bias for action, the ability to get things done both yourself and through others in a supportive and timely way!
- Working knowledge of ApprovalPlus would be advantageous, this role is our A+ superuser at Z!
- Strong problem-solving abilities, translating business needs into solutions within the confines of the ApprovalPlus tool and Z policies
- A pro-active approach, a genuine love of continuous improvement and comfort with initiating change
- Solid finance knowledge, you might currently lead an AP function, be early in your accountancy career or fancy a change from your current purchasing role – if this role feels like a fit we would love to hear from you!
- The ability to commit to a fixed term contract

The base salary range for this role is $95,700 to $112,600 per annum, we also offer a 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution.
