Job Description

Director, Digital Marketing at YouScience will lead our end-to-end digital marketing strategy. Focused on the customer and oriented to create exceptional experiences, this marketing leader will take ownership for the strategy, best practice implementation, and execution of our digital marketing channels. Core to this will be helping the company grow and compete in a very exciting space. This individual will be charged with planning, budgeting, managing, and optimizing our paid, earned, and owned digital and social channels. We ask that you be a curious experimenter, a passionate customer advocate, and a user and developer of digital and social marketing industry best practices.

You will own the essential digital marketing KPIs and will work with the broader marketing team to make sure this aligns with the business OKRs. Together, we’ll use these metrics to learn, make smart optimizations, and build insights that will guide the evolution of the digital marketing practice. Responsibilities

  • Define the end-to-end digital strategy in alignment with the broader brand, acquisition, product, and experience strategy. 

  • Define the overarching paid digital marketing strategy across channels to drive awareness and demand for YouScience. 

  • Develop a best practice for digital, fueled by experimentation of new and emerging tools that will shape "best" and "next" practices for our digital marketing efforts 

  • Serve as the leader and project manager for all digital marketing efforts including content creation, organic search traffic growth, expanding social media reach and engagement, etc. You don’t have to do it all but work cross team to bring the digital presence to life. 

  • Build experiences that help drive Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) that lead to Qualified Opportunities (QOs). 

  • Own and manage agency relationships.

  • Plan, build, execute, test and report on paid campaigns. Use these campaigns to fuel demand generation programs.  

  • Manage paid programs across channels such as digital, social and search targeting.

  • Track and report on status of all digital programs, ensuring timely communication and visibility to all stakeholders. 

  • Manage global digital marketing budget and regional recommendations for paid marketing mix 

  • Find ways for us to evolve and improve digital channels in a thoughtful, consistent, and planful way.  

  • Develop a disciplined and insightful metrics-based approach to measure effectiveness and campaign KPIs and ROI tied to business objectives 

  • Define, build, and interpret actionable dashboards together with demand-based analytics team 

  • Analyze ongoing performance metrics; prepare and communicate reports and actionable insights for broad communication 

  • Serve as the paid media subject matter expert, keeping on top of trends, best practices, and changes in the media space 

  • Work closely with other marketing teams to ensure alignment (demand generation, PR, solutions marketing, website, analytics, etc.) 

  • Lead SEO strategy and execution.

Qualifications

What You Must Have

  • Experience with WordPress and HubSpot or similar OR willingness to learn these. 

  • Ability to be strategic and tactical as needs evolve. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at a business and strategic level 

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions and determine strategies based on performance and financial data 

  • Experience or willingness to work in ambiguity. We don’t always have answers but love people who are willing to figure things out. 

What You Should Have

  • Degree or life experience in Digital Marketing at an agency, start up, or business.

  • Experience selling to educational institutions a plus. B2B experience very helpful.
