Job Description

As an events manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of event programs while helping to advance the vision and strategic direction of the company. The position requires superior organization, negotiation, and communication skills, as well as being able to manage resources and budgets effectively and creatively. The ideal candidate must be an experienced event marketing professional with strong hands-on knowledge in planning and executing physical and virtual event programs at both the corporate and field marketing levels.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and execute corporate and field marketing events
  • Work closely with marketing team members on all marketing event execution, promotions, and sponsorship arrangements and key initiatives within the organization
  • Set, communicate, and maintain timelines and priorities on event programs
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship and activities with external vendors and event partners
  • Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate agreements with vendors and sponsor contacts to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service
  • Coordinate event environment (signage, branding etc.) and manage the execution of events onsite
  • Analyze event operations to prepare and implement recommendations for improving operational efficiencies within the events
  • Trouble shoot and smooth issues related to the successful execution of the event program
  • Provide post event analysis, leads, meetings, budget recaps, internal and client feedback and incorporate learning into future event plans
  • Ensure our event presence is on brand, in-strategy scope, and consistent across all markets
  • Conduct research and identify new event opportunities for the company
  • Source and manage promotional items for key marketing initiatives

Qualifications

 

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills required
  • 1+ years of relevant events experience in a marketing organization
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
  • Ability to develop strong networks and build credibility within the organization
  • Ability to perform well in a team environment and manage multiple deadline-driven projects
  • Must be flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time mgt skills with the ability to multitask
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to process a vast amount of info and understand and prioritize competing business needs
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors at all levels to meet business goals
  • Proven ability to develop effective branded events that will achieve organizational goals
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get the work done and go the extra mile.
  • Strong personal work ethic; Highly organized self-starter
  • Flexible and quick learner who operates with a sense of urgency and a good sense of humor
  • Willingness to travel to industry and company-sponsored events (approximately 30% travel)
  • BA/BS degree or experience working in an event marketing capacity
  • Experience with measuring and tracking event results, costs, leads, meetings, opportunities
  • Experience working with a EdTech is a plus, but not required
