Rework / Soldering Technician - PCB
Long Term Contract
Austin, TX 78746

Work timings: Monday to Friday – 9AM to 6PM
Preplanned Overtimes and weekend support

Job Description
Potential Candidate shall be supporting Validation Lab customers to validation various products, platforms and silicon chipsets.
Shall have dual responsibility: 80-85% Rework technician & 15-20% Team lead of up to 10 members

Mandatory Skills Rework Skills (80-85% of available time)
•    5+ years of soldering and rework experience 
•    Experience in using various soldering and rework equipment
•    Ability of distinguish various color codes on printed circuit boards and electronic components 
•    Ability read electronic schematics and Printed Circuit board drawings and Bill of Materials
•    Ability to identify components like resistors, capacitors, inductors etc
•    Ability to understand “rework” instructions provided by engineers
•    Ability to solder surface mount and fine pitch components. Experience with BGA re-balling preferred 
•    Ability to repair / rework printed circuit boards – cutting and re-routing traces (blue wire rework), placing leads for connecting test & measurement equipment etc – as described in “rework” instruction
•    Ability to prepare custom cables as per drawings provided
•    Familiarity with various hardware components required to build a computer platform
•    Understanding / certification in IPC soldering standards preferred
•    Ability to clearly communicate status of task assigned in a ticket system
•    Ability to self-prioritize activities and adhere to lab safety and cleanliness standards  

Team Lead (15 to 20% of available time)
•    Manage and set priorities to a team of up to 10 members in line with key performance indicators (KPIs) and corresponding service level agreements (SLAs)
•    Team scheduling per customer requirement 
•    Customer communications 
•    Conduct periodic audits – safety, work place cleanliness etc – as required
•    Support new team member interviews, onboarding/ offboarding process
•    Support timesheet and leave submission process
•    Conducting periodic  team and customer review meetings
