Job Description

We are currently looking to hire two Organizational Change Management (OCM) Leads/Specialists. This position will be based out of Fremont, CA. Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the OCM Specialist will provide expertise in Organizational Change Management on IT transformation projects and initiatives.


The Change Management Lead will play a key role in ensuring projects (change initiatives) meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This person will focus on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures.


Qualifications

Required Education, Skills and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or another related field, and coursework in Organizational Change Management preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Organizational Change Management specialist, business analyst, or project manager role leading business process transformation, at least some of which is related to the introduction of new technology

  • A solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Experience in project management and in bringing innovative ideas to reality

  • Experience consulting and communicating with senior management teams

  • Results-oriented and customer-focused. Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with external and internal customers, including senior management

  • Strong, decisive leader with the ability to drive and manage change

  • Comfortable and effective in eliminating barriers and working across organizational, functional boundaries to achieve corporate objectives

  • Knowledge regarding business process redesign and strategic planning

  • Able to manage multiple conflicting priorities, reprioritize tasks, establish priorities, work independently and meet deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to a complex and changing environment

  • Experience working with detailed technical information and with technology; hands-on

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts

  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges

Additional Information

Job Responsibilities:

Working collaboratively with Project teams, often in the role of Change Management Lead, the Organizational Change Management (OCM) Specialist will utilize the standard OCM methodology to:

  • Develop change management strategies and detailed change management plans for the change initiative

  • Prepare the project change management team, including customer leadership, for their roles in execution of the change management plans

  • Coach business unit / customer leaders in change management principles and their practical application in a project context

  • Continually assess progression of change readiness by stakeholder groups and refine or supplement the change management plans as required

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of change management strategies and tactics used to promote adoption

  • Conduct ongoing risk/impact assessments and provide support throughout the project to determine potential challenges/barriers and identify corresponding risk mitigation strategies

  • Coordinate change management activities at implementation to ensure that all planned activities are carried out smoothly

  • Work closely with the role responsible for benefits realization management to monitor adoption and conduct investigations into unsatisfactory outcomes

  • Responsible for the overall management and delivery and of projects (scope, timeline, budget) within Project Delivery & Planning group portfolio

  • Support communication efforts: Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications

  • Assess the change impact: Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness and identify key stakeholders

  • Support training efforts: Provide input, document requirements and support the design and delivery of training programs

  • Integrate change management activities into project plan

  • Evaluate and ensure user readiness

  • Create actionable deliverables for the five change management levers: communications plan, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan, resistance management plan

  • Coordinate efforts with other specialists

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance


Location:

 Fremont, CA (Looking for local Bay Area candidates; no relocation)



Job Type: This is an initial 6-month contract opportunity with one of our premier direct clients in Fremont, CA (onsite). For the right candidate, contract can be extended for up to a year.
