Job Description

Role:

This is an initial 3-month fixed-term contract position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for executing specific finance and accounting tasks with strict adherence to process and policy compliance, managing project delivery for recurring annual initiatives to meet company-defined and statutory deadlines, and overseeing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations.

Specific tasks as assigned by CFO/Sr. Accountant/Accountant and set out in a position description / schedule, and includes ad hoc requests as deemed appropriate.

Specific business defined, CFO/ Sr. Accountant/Accountant defined and statutory timelines

Initial Duties:

• Daily reconciliation of company bank accounts, credit cards and travel cards within Xero

• Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable management

• Supporting payroll, controlling and processing employee’s expense claims

• Customer cooperation and internal communication with sales/customer success team as required

• Assisting with month end close process including preparation of account reconciliations

• Assisting with preparation of internal financial reports as needed

• Ad hoc requests as needed by the CFO / Sr. Accountant/Accountant

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a Finance or Accounting degree, or equivalent qualification with concurrent pursuit of professional accounting credentials (CA, CGA, CMA, or CPA) or;

• 2+ years all rounded experience in all areas of key responsibilities 

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero; familiarity with Salesforce, MYOB, Sage, or ERP environments is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of GST legislation and related compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proven experience in an accounting department or equivalent accounting responsibilities
