Job Description

The Junior Systems Administrator is a very important role here at Xref HQ. You will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the software and the IT systems we use are working optimally as well as support your colleagues with any issues they may have. 

Day to day you can expect to be:

  • Providing day to day technical and application support to users of computer software and hardware by telephone, face to face or online

  • Identifying the hardware and software needed to provide solutions to problems

  • Assisting in the customisation and adaptation of existing programs to meet users’ requirements

  • Maintaining our help-desk ticketing system and ensuring Service Level Agreement targets are met with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Completing documentation in regard to work schedules performed and making notes of recommendations to help overcome persistent problems

  • Ensuring IT policies for both hardware infrastructure and applications are implemented and maintained company wide

  • Optimising existing environment based on business and security needs

  • Automating complex tasks

Qualifications

What we are looking for in you:

  • Ideally 1 years experience in an IT support role - deploying and supporting desktops / laptops, phone systems, video conferencing and various wireless devices

  • BA/BS degree in the following majors: Information Systems, Information Technology, Applied Networking, System Administration (or other degrees with applicable experience)

  • Experience working with Jira, MDM (JAMF), Okta and G Suite 

  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders

  • Ability to operate effectively in a team environment, with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and to make quick decisions with limited information

  • Effective organisational, communication, problem-solving and customer service skills
