About the opportunity

Xplor is on a mission to help people succeed across the world, and we're looking for a Senior QA Engineer to ensure our payments platform delivers exceptional quality and reliability. Join our Payment vertical as a Senior QA Engineer in Auckland, NZ to make a real impact every day. We say that because we know that every conversation we have, every code line we write and every interface we design is another opportunity for us to enrich our customers’ experiences.

Reporting into the Software Engineering Manager, you'll design and execute comprehensive test strategies across our microservices architecture, develop automated testing frameworks, and collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to deliver world-class payment experiences.

What You'll Do:

  • Own Quality across the payments platform - from transaction processing to settlement systems

  • Build and maintain automated testing frameworks using C#, .NET, and modern testing tools 

  • Design comprehensive test strategies for complex payment flows, integrations, and microservices

  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, business analyst to drive the QA process, contributing ideas and process improvement 

  • Champion process improvements - bring fresh ideas and drive continuous improvement in our QA practices

  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and tool.

Location: In this position, you can work from home 100% from anywhere in New Zealand, provided you have full working rights.  

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate?

We're looking for curious and empathetic QA engineers who ask "why" and "what if" - people who dig deeper to understand not just how systems work, but how they impact end users. We value those motivated by meaningful work - knowing that your testing ensures secure, reliable transactions for businesses and their customers every day.

  • 3+ years of experience in QA engineering, preferably in microservices environment. 

  • Strong C# and .NET proficiency with hands-on experience in testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, or similar)

  • High level of knowledge in SQL  

  • Proven experience designing and implementing test strategies and automation solutions

  • Agile methodology expertise and experience with Git version control.

  • Adaptability and resilience - you thrive in fast-paced, constantly evolving environments.

  • Alignment with our values and a collaborative, positive attitude

  • Good to have experience with cloud-based technologies like Azure or AWS 

  • API testing expertise and performance testing experience (desirable)
