Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse Business Scenarios: Understand and analyse business scenarios and non-functional requirements related to performance SLAs of the application.
  • Design Performance Testing Architecture: Create and document the overall performance testing architecture and framework, including reusable components, best practices, and guidelines for integrating performance testing into the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
  • Workload Modelling: Design workload models, execute, and monitor performance tests to identify system bottlenecks.
  • Standardize Metrics Reports: Develop standardized metrics reports for measuring and monitoring system performance.
  • Ongoing Performance Monitoring: Implement strategies for real-time performance monitoring, including setting up monitoring tools and creating alerts for abnormal performance behaviour.
  • Guidance and Training: Provide guidance and training to testing teams on performance testing methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective testing across projects.
  • Performance Testing Processes: Define and standardize performance testing processes and best practices across various projects.
  • Test Script Creation: Develop realistic performance test scripts that simulate various user scenarios and system loads.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with testing experts, architects, and development teams to ensure a holistic approach to performance testing.
  • Performance Test Plans: Create effective performance test plans for web and mobile applications using tools like JMeter.
  • Script Execution: Script and execute performance tests to simulate realistic user behaviour and load levels, including parameterizing scripts and correlating dynamic values.
  • Non-Functional Requirements Analysis: Analyse non-functional requirements related to application performance and validate server responses using assertions.
  • Test Results Analysis: Analyse test results to identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Framework Development: Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks and best practices.
  • System Resource Monitoring: Monitor system resources during test execution to identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Reporting: Create detailed performance test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Capacity Planning: Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in performance testing.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior QA engineers in performance testing methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Create effective performance test plans for web and mobile applications using JMeter.
  • Script and execute performance tests to simulate realistic user behavior and load levels.
  • Parameterize scripts to simulate different user scenarios and load levels.
  • Correlate dynamic values from server responses and use them in subsequent requests.
  • Analyze non-functional requirements under test, related to application performance.
  • Validate server responses and ensure that the application is working correctly using assertions.
  • Design effective test plans that simulate realistic user behavior and load levels and provide meaningful performance metrics.
  • Analyze test results and identify performance bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
  • Develop and maintain performance testing frameworks and best practices.
  • Monitor system resources during test execution to identify potential bottlenecks.
  • Create detailed performance test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in performance testing.
  • Mentor junior QA engineers in performance testing methodologies and tools.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of JMeter and performance testing concepts.
  • Sound knowledge of HTTP Protocol, request-response cycle, HTTP methods, headers, and Regular Expressions.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze performance test results.
  • Solid understanding writing scripting code, Java, JavaScript or Groovy.

Desired Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with tools like Flood.io or Blazemeter for load generation.
  • At least 3 years of Solid understanding in Software Quality Assurance and Performance Testing.
  • Sound understanding working in a CI/CD and DevOps environment.
  • Performance Testing Certifications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
