Job Description

You’ll join Xplor’s .Net Team which provides payment systems to the health and Fitness industry. Whether small and independent or large franchises we build systems that customers can rely on.

Reporting into the Lead .NET Developer, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, working with Product Owners, Business Analysists and other members of the business to help deliver and support functionality across our customer and client-facing web applications.

Responsibilities you’ll have:

  • Hands on problem-solving attitude with the ability to generate ideas and solutions, and adapt and learn new technologies on the job.
  • Take the lead on requirements analysis, solution design and hands on development.
  • Produce High-Level Solutions Design documents, API Interface specifications and Wiki’s.
  • Review functional and technical documentation and improve where needed.
  • Articulate software designs to customers.
  • Write, edit, and debug software for assigned projects.
  • Contribute to analysis of software projects including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct peer reviews for other members of the development team, ensuring that project conventions are adhered too and that requirements are correctly implemented.
  • To assist with Technical Peer Review with Product Owners and Technical Implementation Teams.
  • Work with staff and clients to identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation of existing software projects.
  • To act as a member of an agile development team (e.g. a SCRUM Sprint Team) as and when required to fulfil role responsibilities and objectives.
  • Mentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to determined software quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other team members and provide the tangible end product.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments.


What would make me a good candidate?

  • Proficient in front-end web development (e.g.  HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Write clean, secure, scalable code using VB .Net (Framework).
  • Familiarity with Web Forms, WebAPI and Unit Testing.
  • Design/architectural patterns & SOLID Principles.
  • Experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience with SVN source control.
  • Contribute to analysis of software projects including performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting.
  • Create and maintain documentation for your assigned software product.
  • Familiarity with SCRUM activities.
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product owners) to identify system requirements .
  • Isolate, reproduce and report defects.
  • Proactive, self-motivated learner with a strong drive to achieve personal goals.
  • Good communication skills.

Useful tech to know for the future (optional):

  • Knowledge of C# .Net Core
  • Knowledge of Microservices
  • Experience of using GIT
  • Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
