About the opportunity

You’ll join our Legal & Compliance team — the team that provides expertise and support to our five business verticals. You’ll work hand in hand with internal stakeholders to help them overcome obstacles by understanding their unique goals and challenges, so they can focus on what really matters - helping our customers succeed. This is a 12month Fixed Term contract to cover a maternity leave.

Reporting into Global Head of Compliance, you’ll help us Provide in-house compliance services to Xplor Australasia. Some of the other responsibilities you’ll have:

  • Manage the Compliance Officer and Compliance Analyst Australasia
  • Work with the Global Head of Compliance to ensure Xplor’s continued ongoing compliance with all regulatory requirements (including ASIC/AFSL Registration in Australia, FSP Registration in NZ, Australia and NZ Consumer law, AML/CFT obligations and Privacy law).
  • Submit reports to ASIC/AFSL and FMA/NZ Companies Office.
  • Collaborate with the Xplor department managers in Australia and NZ on compliance issues.
  • Assist on the handling of escalated complaints, including to AFCA or the Ombudsman.
  • Develop internal controls and policies to meet compliance needs
  • Monitor and manage the Australia and NZ component of the Xplor Global Compliance Plan
  • Liaise with supervisory and government officials on matters that affect Xplor’s present and future activities.

Qualifications

What would make me a good candidate?

  • Precious experience in Australian and New Zealand financial services inhouse compliance roles.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ( dealing with Executive level)
  • Proactive, self-motivated learner with a strong drive to achieve personal goals
  • Ability to work autonomously in a team
  • Motivated by a fast-growing environment where you will have to constantly adapt - no two days are the same!
