Creating the status reports, running the pmo, project manager who knows how the pmo run
Duties:
As a Project Manager Analyst in the Program Management Office (PMO), you will assist the US Finance PMO team in delivering Finance projects on-time and on-budget by facilitating project prioritization, financial management, resource management, and portfolio/project risk management across the project portfolio. In addition, the Project Manager Analyst works with the Program Manager to supervise and enforce the PMO governance and strategy. The Project Manager Analyst reports to the Program Manager.
The role will firstly focus on the stand-up of U.S. Finance’s PMO, where you will:
Develop and enhance PMO governance, processes and procedures, that ensure consistency and compliance ultimately align with the company’s strategic direction
Identify internal processes and technical improvement opportunities to implement and develop tools, templates, and methodologies.
Establish use of tools, templates, reporting cadence, etc.
Once the PMO is stood up, the focus of this role will shift to the management of the PMO:
Analyze the portfolio of projects within Finance for reporting to the PMO Leader and Finance leadership:
Track project actuals v. forecast and budget variances and impact on portfolio budget
Work with Portfolio Manager to govern project change requests
Document and track portfolio risks and issues
Manage portfolio risks register containing mitigation strategies
Analyze resource utilization across the portfolio and identify areas of under/over-allocation
Support the development of Steering Committee & Executive Council presentations
Work with Project Managers and Reporting & Analytics teams within the PMO:
Communicate portfolio risks and impacts to Project Managers
Produce utilization report of Project Manager assignments
Leverage centralized project plan data and reporting to analyze portfolio
Work with the members of the Project Portfolio and Reporting & Analytics teams in fully assessing, quantifying and prioritizing risks:
Identify, document and track portfolio risks and issues
Analyze (quantify and prioritize) risks at the project and portfolio level
Escalate critical risks to schedule, budget and/or scope as required
Document and create reporting on response plans and execution
Skills:
Program and/or Project Management experience required, active PMP certification is helpful
Intimidate understanding of different project management lifecycles with an emphasis on IPECC
5+ years’ experience working on a PMO team defining and improving policies, procedures, templates
5+ years’ experience with large-scale technical and or content projects
Both a strong technology and business acumen required
Ability to work with all levels of management including Executive leadership in a high-paced, stressful environment that is under-going change
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office product suite, particularly with Project, Excel and PowerPoint
Education:
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equilavent work experience.
