Reason for Need: 

They are looking to boost up on Field Service Engineers with experience! Their primary need is for Field Service Engineers who have worked with Horizontal Machining Centers and they need about three who specialize in Grinders.

 

Key Points:

  • Ideal areas to be based are Mid-West into the Southeast with access to an airport (most customers are East of the Mississippi as reference),  (must be near a major airport).
  • Travel is 100%, Monday through Friday with overnights and some weekends (paid overtime)
  • FANUC Controls experience is a strongly preferred qualification
  • Experience working in Horizontal Machining Centers
  • We need about two or three who specialize in Grinders
  • Expertise in CNC machine tool systems.
  • Looking for Engineers with stable work history.

Summary:

 

The Field Service Engineer has the primary responsibility of providing installation, troubleshooting, diagnostic, repair,

and maintenance support with total customer satisfaction in mind. This individual must demonstrate strong repair and

troubleshooting skills and knowledge.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Install new CNC machine tool systems at customer facility (including all options and accessories on all machine types).
  • Analyze findings to troubleshoot and determine source(s) of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or application issues.
  • Coordinate problem resolution and recommend repair, replacement, and/or other corrective action for CNC machine tools.
  • Provide on-site and remote support (telephone, email, etc.) to customers, distributors, and colleagues.
  • Provide project management and training as required.
  • Execute other tasks related to trade show events (ToyoTech, IMTS, etc.) and/or service support on an as-needed basis.
  • Travel Requirements: 90% - 100%, Monday through Friday with overnights and some weekends.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • 3+ years of experience in machine tool maintenance/technology (both electrical and mechanical).
  • 3+ years of experience in providing remote technical support (both electrical and mechanical) in the machine
  • tool industry.
  • 3+ years of experience with installation and/or maintenance of machining centers.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology.
  • Knowledge of leveling, checking, and adjusting the geometry of CNC machinery
  • Knowledge of PLC programming/troubleshooting, control systems, Fanuc Controls, and power circuits.
