Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all engineering activities that ensure product quality and process efficiency meet customer requirements and company goals.
  • Manage department performance by reviewing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implementing other metrics where applicable. Measure ongoing performance and provide management report on a regular basis.
  • Identify organizational skill requirements, assess gaps in key skill areas, implement strategy to close the gaps and strengthen the organization and provide adequate succession planning.
  • Drive individuals to continuously improve in key operational metrics.
  • To lead and drive manufacturing-engineering excellence by working with various functional leads, to ensure engineering capability meets/exceeds manufacturing
  • Plan, select, design, and develop manufacturing methods and processes using lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Manage the engineering changes for customer requests, process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Directs and/or coordinates electronic engineering and/or technical personnel in fabrication and design of testing and test control apparatus and equipment, or software and systems testing.
  • Coordinates all activities and all testers during each testing phase of a project or program.
  • Resolves test yield problems by performing analysis of root causes, developing, and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
  • Devise process controls and data collection strategies and evaluate complex data to assist with reporting yield, reliability and diagnoses to root causes failures impacting product quality. Support manufacturing with troubleshooting and problem-solving analysis.
  • Lead introduction of new products (NPI) or modification of products within assigned area by using APQP and PPAP tools from development through the launch.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing costed and optimized feedback using Design for manufacturability (DFX) tools and processes, with the goal of reducing manufacturing cost and improving quality and reliability of product.
  • Provide technical leadership to site operations, establish technology roadmap and work closely with regional technical team pertaining to engineering development roadmap and improvements
  • Lead team to study customer design requirements and reviews with appropriate engineering personnel to ensure compatibility of processing and equipment methods.
  • Lead process development, provide guidance and support to project team in areas of process development and improvement.
  • Lead equipment maintenance and management activities.
  • Ensure the production process and equipment configuration are suitable for production and meet with quality request.
  • Study and identify the suitable machine/equipment for manufacturing, testing and inspection, estimate the cost and ROI impact of new investment relevant process/equipment.
  • Develop new manufacturing practices to ensure that manufacturing costs, technique and quality are equivalent with external industrial practices in manufacturing field.
  • Encourage innovation among staff, build up an open, positive, and transparent team environment.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the superior.

Qualifications

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
  • At least with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering
  • Technical Competencies: NPI-PCBA; DFX, Optical & X-RAY Inspection, PCB Assembly, Box Build, Mechanical Assembly, Testing, and Industrial Engineering.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge (6 sigma, 5S, TPM, SMED, Pull system, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge in all electronic manufacturing engineering processes.
  • Good interpersonal relationship and a team player
