Job Description
The Production Planner oversees end‑to‑end materials management, translating demand forecasts into executable plans, validating material availability, and driving daily communication with operations. As the planning subject‑matter expert, they ensure kit completion for production and are a key contributor to capacity planning.
> KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Translate demand (forecast, orders, backlog) into finite production schedules and work orders.
- Run MRP/ERP to ensure material availability; place and expedite purchase/transfer orders to meet lead times.
- Balance line/cell capacity; sequence jobs to minimize changeovers and meet due dates.
- Maintain and update master data (BOMs, routings, lead times, lot sizes) in ERP; support ECR/ECO changes.
- Track WIP and inventory; resolve shortages, constraints, and quality holds with cross‑functional teams.
- Coordinate NPI ramp and phase‑in/phase‑out with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain.
- Prepare daily/weekly production plans, commits, and status reports; drive OTIF.
- Drive continuous improvement (Lean, 5S, kanban, lot size optimisation).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in production planning/scheduling within electronics or discrete manufacturing.
- Must be proficient in ERP systems with an understanding of manufacturing and multi-layer BOMs
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail; able to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Continuously monitors demand vs. capacity to surface emerging bottlenecks or shortages and promptly communicates options and recovery plans to stakeholders.
- Willing to work flexible hours to support customers and suppliers across multiple time zones.
- Self‑directed and organized, able to plan, reprioritize, and execute tasks under pressure.
- Strong ERP/MRP skills; advanced Excel.
- Understanding of BOMs, routings, capacity planning, lead times, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of kanban, and basic problem‑solving
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Proficient in Vietnamese a plus
