Job Description
The Fine Dining Host Person is responsible for delivering an exceptional first and last impression for guests within a luxury restaurant at Wynn Las Vegas. This role ensures a seamless, refined arrival and seating experience through attentive service, detailed coordination, and personalized guest engagement.
The Host Person serves as the central point of communication for guest flow, reservations, and front-of-house organization while upholding Wynn’s Forbes Five-Star standards and commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Arrival Presentation
- Greet all guests with poise, warmth, and professionalism, using eye contact and personalized acknowledgment when possible
- Anticipate guest needs and preferences to provide a tailored, elevated experience
- Maintain a polished, confident presence that reflects the luxury positioning of Wynn restaurants
- Ensure each guest’s arrival and departure experience is seamless, gracious, and memorable
Reservations & Seating Coordination
- Manage reservations and guest seating with precision, balancing service pacing and guest expectations
- Coordinate VIP arrivals, special occasions, and high-priority reservations with management and service teams
- Provide accurate wait times and manage waitlists while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Optimize seating flow to ensure efficiency without compromising the guest experience
Luxury Service Delivery
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all aspects of arrival experience (greeting standards, seating, menu presentation, guest transitions)
- Maintain awareness of dining room atmosphere, including guest mix, pacing, and overall ambiance
- Uphold Forbes Five-Star service standards through attentive, thoughtful, and proactive guest interaction
Communication & Guest Coordination
- Act as a liaison between guests, servers, and management to communicate guest preferences, VIP status, and special requests
- Maintain clear, constant communication with front-of-house teams to ensure readiness for seated guests
- Relay guest feedback and service opportunities to leadership in real time
Guest Relations & Service Recovery
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with discretion, urgency, and professionalism
- Coordinate with management to execute service recovery when necessary
- Support special guest needs, including accessibility, celebrations, and customized dining arrangements
Operational Excellence
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the host stand and entry area
- Ensure menus, reservation systems, and guest materials are accurate and properly maintained
- Complete all opening and closing procedures and adhere to established operational standards
- Attend pre-shift meetings to stay informed of VIPs, menu updates, and daily priorities
Compliance & Brand Standards
- Adhere to all Wynn grooming, appearance, and uniform standards
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
- Execute all responsibilities in accordance with Wynn policies and departmental procedures
- Act as an ambassador of Wynn’s brand, values, and culture
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2+ years of experience in a fine dining, luxury hospitality, or upscale guest service role preferred
- Experience with reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms or similar) preferred
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
Knowledge & Skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Professional presence with a refined and service-oriented mindset
Licenses & Certifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required work cards and licenses
