    Job Description

The Protective Services Officer – 2 (PSO2) is an armed security professional primarily assigned to a designated security zone containing one or more controlled entry points. PSO2 maintains a continuous armed presence within the assigned zone and is responsible for access control, screening operations, deterrence, and prevention of unauthorized entry.

PSO2 personnel focus on monitoring controlled areas, detecting prohibited items, verifying credentials, and maintaining a visible and professional security presence. Their primary responsibility is to maintain an armed presence at, or in close proximity to, their assigned entrance to ensure consistent access control and screening. As a secondary function, PSO2 personnel may conduct limited roving within their assigned zone-based area. While they may respond to incidents when directed or when immediate action is required, they must return to their primary entrance post upon completing the response.

This position requires vigilance, procedural compliance, and the ability to maintain controlled access environments while upholding Forbes Five-Star service standards.

    • Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports in accordance with departmental standards.
    • May perform the essential duties of PSO1 classification when operationally necessary.
    • Any other duties assigned by management.
