Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Costume Construction & Wardrobe, the Wardrobe Attendant will be required to: 

  • Perform all functions and duties as assigned to assist the department with maintaining costumes and accessories in a safe and consistent manner.
  • Perform wardrobe cue tracks, dresser functions and launder the costumes.
  • Wash and care for highly specialized costumes, headpieces, shoes and accessories as well as preserve the long-term integrity of all costume items and accessories.
  • Make quick repairs to costumes and accessories as directed.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events and rehearsals.
  • Adhere to all company and departmental safety policies with emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all OSHA regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Experience / Education:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as Wardrobe Attendant or in a similar position for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the care of costumes and backstage dressing procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be highly organized and able to function in a stressful environment.
  • Must be able to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Must possess strong problem solving and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others and develop positive interpersonal relationships with coworkers.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends and holidays).
  • Must have the ability to work with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is required.
  • Must have a current OSHA 10 General Industry Safety Card.
