Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Costume Construction & Wardrobe, the Wardrobe Attendant will be required to:
- Perform all functions and duties as assigned to assist the department with maintaining costumes and accessories in a safe and consistent manner.
- Perform wardrobe cue tracks, dresser functions and launder the costumes.
- Wash and care for highly specialized costumes, headpieces, shoes and accessories as well as preserve the long-term integrity of all costume items and accessories.
- Make quick repairs to costumes and accessories as directed.
- Maintain a flexible schedule for work calls, special events and rehearsals.
- Adhere to all company and departmental safety policies with emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
- Adhere to all OSHA regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Job Experience / Education:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working as Wardrobe Attendant or in a similar position for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the care of costumes and backstage dressing procedures.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be highly organized and able to function in a stressful environment.
- Must be able to manage, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Must possess strong problem solving and time management skills.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and adapt to changes quickly.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with others and develop positive interpersonal relationships with coworkers.
- Must work well in a team environment.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends and holidays).
- Must have the ability to work with individuals from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is required.
- Must have a current OSHA 10 General Industry Safety Card.
