Job Description
As the leader of this team you will plan, coordinate, support, and supervise activities related to research, design, development, testing and implementation of our entire product suite
Provide leadership and oversight for the development team on assigned projects and foster a culture of high performance
Develop the skills and abilities of the architects, analysts, developers, and test automation engineers on the team
Collaborate in the development of technical and business strategy
Collaborate in the definition of new software architectures, products and solutions
Estimate work effort from Product Management plans and requirements
Allocate and balance resources across a portfolio of active and planned projects
Communicate orally and in writing to a variety of technical and business experts
Define, develop and adhere to software design and development life cycle standards
Design templates, tools, and metrics to continuously measure and improve processes
Oversee the career development, performance, and compensation of the individuals on your team
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Experience in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar areas of study
A minimum of 7 years of software development experience
Five years experience managing technology groups of at least ten people
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization inside and outside of IT
Commitment to continuous learning both for yourself and your team
Strong interpersonal skills to successfully communicate and collaborate with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software features, explain technical designs, and articulate technical strategies
Fluent in open source languages and experience in web-based projects
Experience with agile development methodologies
Experience championing software design, development, and UI style Guide standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing remote and offshore/nearshore staff
Hands-on experience with many disparate technologies, ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
Experience with javascript languages, React.js and Node.js a plus
