Job Description

We are on a mission of growing our business within the North region (Nordics, Baltics and Luxembourg) and we are now looking for a professional marketeer to join our team. As the Head of Regional Media Buying, you will spearhead our media acquisition efforts, playing a critical role in the execution of our marketing strategies across various channels (with a focus on offline). Reporting to the Head of Marketing Strategy and Planning, you will be responsible for negotiating and purchasing ad space, ensuring our message reaches the target audience effectively and within the budget.

Together with the performance marketing team, you will be responsible for the regional growth of our markets by driving a multi-channel strategy. You will collaborate with the User Acquisition Team, as well as our Brand Performance team to deliver top-nodge 360 channels campaigns .

Wolt marketing budgets are vast, and ensuring their efficient deployment through effective media buying is critical. Working with media agencies on a regional level allows us to gain scalability while getting more insights of the effectiveness of our activities as well as the reach of our campaigns. As this is a new function for us at Wolt, you will be part of building and shaping it for the future. 

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive media buying strategy in alignment with the company's marketing goals.
  • Negotiate with media outlets to secure cost-effective ad placements.
  • Develop a negotiation strategy to maximize ROI on the media investments, and optimize our media buying accordingly.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging across campaigns.
  • Manage relationships with media vendors and partners.
  • Ensure timely and insightful reports from media agencies where relevant.
  • Work closely with the Global team to embed centrally generated best practice media planning and buying guidelines, KPI's and standardized reporting.
  • Provide regional brand marketing team best practice advice on the construct of best performing content, based on media performance. 
  • Actively advise Brand and Marketing managers on Media opportunities.
  • Track the media agency's service level with a bi-annual assessment 
  • Support senior commercial and marketing team(s) in media investment decisions, when collaborating with partners, and proposing and running co-marketing campaigns 

Qualifications

  • +8-10 years of experience from marketing, preferably within e-commerce and/or retail
  • Experience in Media or Digital agencies / advertisers Media Management department or Media Company / Media Research Agencies
  • In-depth understanding of the media market in the North region (ie, media cost dynamics, landscape, media usage trends, etc.)
  • Ideal candidates must have the ability to represent the company's perspective to internal and external stakeholders as well as provide subject matter expertise to Marketing Teams on Media Planning strategy and media negotiations strategy.
  • Self driven and comfortable of taking decisions within a fast phase environment
  • Analytical mindset and a capability to make decisions based on data 
  • Both long-term and short-term planning and balancing between this will be part of daily tasks 
  • Experience from marketing project management and from running projects with several different stakeholders, internal and external, is a must 
  • Experience from a international working environment and working with a team based in different countries is preferred
  • Ability to build networks. Very strong supplier relationship management skills. Has well established external media network
  • Experience in both media planning and buying along with a strong digital and offline foundation is a requirement, with an ability to stay ahead of the ever-evolving media landscape
  • Ideally this candidate may already hold a similar position within an advertiser or will have the credentials to move from the media agency environment.
  • Open minded, positive can-do attitude
  • Good negotiation skills 
  • The role is based either in Finland, Estonia or Sweden.
