Role background
Wolt is a Finnish technology company and we’re best known for our food delivery platform. In 2017, Wolt operated in 4 countries and 10 cities across the Nordics. Fast forward to today, we’re a team of 8000+ people in 25 countries and over 500+ cities, servicing over 29M registered users and have 50+ Wolt Market stores across our Wolt markets. As the platform economy is changing the ways consumers connect with restaurants and retailers, we are seeing a huge opportunity to be the  industry leader with the amazing teams we have built globally.

New Verticals at Wolt currently brings together all categories outside restaurant food, such as grocery, pharma, health beauty, electronics, home, clothing, pet stores, flowers... Grocery is our biggest and most developed category accounting for a significant share of total business in many of our markets. 

We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, hands-on builder and leader to grow and manage the Partner Grocery business in 25 markets. You will do this by indirectly managing a large employee base and working cross functionally to delight customers in local markets and drive results for the business. This role requires someone who is strategic, moves fast, detail oriented, and a proven team leader.  

You will be accountable for the overall P&L across our 25 markets and responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities for our Grocery business. You will also be part of the New Verticals leadership team and collaborate closely with local teams and key stakeholders across multiple functions (product, global operations, marketing, finance and other business lines) to deliver sustainable growth and a best in the world customer experience.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead: Recruit, lead, and retain an excellent team of builders and owners. You are a culture carrier and the tone starts with you.
• Build: You'll launch new partners, cities, countries and get 1% better every day. This means everything from high-level strategy down to the finest of details.
• Manage. Develop the vision for our Grocery business globally. You will guide growth and directly manage the P&L.
• Collaborate. You'll work with multiple teams including engineering, product, design, operations, finance, and marketing to grow this new line of business for Wolt.

• +10 years of experience, ideally in the intersection of retail and e-commerce
• Proven track record in international business leadership with multiple hundreds of millions in turnover 
• Experience building new business processes and/or functions from early stages
• Leadership experience from managing large teams and organizations
• Data-driven decision making combined with bias for action and testing
• Thrive in a dynamic environment where you are proactive and figure out what to do rather than wait to be told what to do. 
• Excellent people skills and the ability to motivate and communicate with various stakeholders.
