In a phase of rapid growth, we are looking for a Lead Engineer to head our Site Reliability Engineering and help us ensure we drive forward the tech vision and scale while maintaining engineering quality.  
In this role, you own the Core Group’s SRE domain, implement SRE as a success culture and plan ahead in scaling, performance, and productivity alongside taking part in hands-on coding. 

The mission of this role is to make sure Wolt runs reliably as we scale at a break-neck pace!
The Core Group is a power squad of (currently) seven experienced teams. Being a part of Core, you work closely with our Infrastructure, Platform Services, Developer Experience and other Core engineering teams. These platform and enabling teams strive for the best developers experience and autonomy by providing a reliable and state-of-the-art designed foundation.

Our Product Development is based in Helsinki HQ (working remotely at the moment) but welcome new members to the Helsinki HQ or working entirely remotely from other locations across Finland, Germany, Denmark, Sweden or Estonia now and in the future! Note that we don't currently offer relocation support for locations other than Finland & Germany, so we hope you are based in one of these two when applying for a remote role.

We are looking for a seasoned expert with an extensive background and experience in designing and building top-class software and a good understanding of what it takes to build and operate scalable software services in a high-throughput, highly available production setting.

You would have already brought Scalability and Reliability to the forefront in a distributed system and have a strong sense of ownership and integrity, demonstrated through clear communication and collaboration. We expect you to be passionate about observability, ideally with experience in distributed tracing, and a proactive problem solver willing to bring up issues in a constructive manner to the teams.

You are familiar with error budgets, you identify and contribute to solutions for reducing service outages, reducing alert noise, and helping our services reach service level objectives (SLOs).
