Our business has grown to a level (and keeps growing) where machine learning models for user acquisition, demand prediction, delivery time prediction, dynamic pricing, operations optimisation etc. can have a huge impact. We're looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our competence team of 15+ data science and analytics professionals in Helsinki or Berlin! 

 Our Data Scientists at Wolt are working with machine learning for the most important processes and parts of Wolt’s online delivery platform. The work consists of owning machine learning components as part of a product team; starting from identifying opportunities to developing and prototyping a solution, all the way to maintaining and improving a production ready solution. We are using a variety of technologies and tools e.g. Python, SQL, Spark, Snowflake, AWS, Looker, Airflow, MLflow, Kafka, Jenkins, and Grafana to get the job done, and constantly looking for ways to improve how our data scientists work. 

You would focus on helping our Content & Personalisation team, responsible for “Your Wolt” -experience by research and developing methods and machine learning models for selecting and presenting the most relevant content to the customers based on their personal preferences at any given time, at any given place.  Your work is directly impacting our recommendation solutions that define how we show content to over 12M+ people on our pages across 160+ cities we operate in. You would be working on our customer, engagement, and venue data, analyzing customer profiles and behaviour to further develop personalization methods and measure their impact. On a daily basis, you would closely collaborate with product leads, engineers, designers and fellow data scientists.  We have recently expanded to retail so there are plenty of interesting opportunities coming from the content & personalization aspect. 🚀

Our humble expectations

• Plenty of hands-on experience with production-level data science projects

• Deep understanding and experience with machine learning and a solid understanding of statistics

• Experience with personalization, recommenders, search and ranking problems, and knowledge how to evaluate them with robustly designed experiments and A/B testing

• Fluent programming skills in Python, which is our main language for data science projects and experience with databases (SQL)

• Analytical and curious thinking, self-starter with a drive to get things done

• Interest to contribute towards our Data Science team

• Bonus points for experience in computer vision, Spark, causal inference, Bayesian modeling and statistics, and constrained optimization

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter makes it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
