The product designer collaborates with members of the Product, Engineering, and Communications teams to imagine and build user-centric learning experiences delivered via our online software. The product designer will have a strong impact on how hundreds of businesses interact thousands of Media professionals with  on our SaaS platform. The individual in this role will work as a team member in an agile squad supporting strategic projects. Candidates will apply design principles to assist various teams in producing clear and compelling visual communications. The right candidate for this role will have a portfolio (either online or PDF) which demonstrates strong capabilities in both UX process knowledge and application as well as visual/UI design. 

Responsibilities

• Leverage core experience design to weave iconography, typography, color, space, and texture together online to create an unparalleled customer experience 
• Participate in user research and discovery on complex problems; speak with customers, get to know the problem space through research and iteration. 
• Apply graphic and user-centered design principles to produce high-quality visuals—from concept to component-driven comps. 
• Ability and willingness to communicate clearly with various stakeholders 
• Contribute to the evolution of the company's Design System —including recommending data-inspired improvements and codifying usage rules on an ongoing basis. 
• Help build an exceptional product team by providing design support across product squads. 
• Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers, copywriters and product managers.
• Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes, style guides, user flows, and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
• Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
• Continually keep yourself and your design team updated with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.

• At least 3+ years of professional UX design experience designing large-scale (SaaS and/or e-commerce preferred) responsive products, high-content properties, and mobile applications for brands and/or media. 
• Should be creative with problem solving mindset with a hunger for learning and a desire to solve complex human problems with technology. 
• A desire to challenge yourself both personally and professionally; as well as staying current with technology and interaction design trends. 
• Strong portfolio to be presented and defended during interview
• Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc
• Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, InVision, UXPin or Adobe XD, etc.
• Be open to receiving objective criticism and improving upon it
• Experience working in an agile/scrum development process will be a plus
• Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 Javascript will be a plus
