Senior Director, Retail Channel Partnerships

  • Full-time
  • City: New York
  • Department/Company: Global Sales

Job Description

As Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships, you'll lead a high-priority, company-wide initiative to build and scale Wix's partner ecosystem across a diverse range of high-growth verticals. You'll architect and close transformative partnerships that drive new user acquisition, revenue growth, and platform adoption — spanning financial services, fintech, SaaS platforms, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, digital agencies, and commerce-adjacent verticals. This is a partnership creation role at its core: you'll identify whitespace opportunities, and bring in partners that meaningfully move the needle for Wix's Unified Commerce strategy.

We're looking for someone who has built partnership functions, not just managed them — someone equally comfortable pitching a commercial model with a CFO as they are presenting a partner vision to a CEO.

In this role, you'll:

  • Identify, develop, and close high-value strategic partnerships across a broad range of verticals including financial services, fintech, SaaS platforms, e-commerce platforms, online marketplaces, large digital agencies, dropshipping platforms, and high-volume SMB ecosystems
  • Build and scale the partnership function end-to-end — from ecosystem strategy and partner targeting through commercial structuring, contract execution, and long-term performance management
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of partnerships across multiple partnership types — referral, co-sell for example across marketplace distribution, and e-commerce platform integrations — generating multi-million dollar revenue and user acquisition impact
  • Originate and close partnerships with e-commerce platforms, marketplace operators, dropshipping platforms, and aggregators that can deliver high-volume SMB merchant flows directly into the Wix platform
  • Build relationships with large digital agencies and agency networks that serve SMB clients at scale, structuring programs that make Wix the platform of choice for their client base
  • Develop go-to-market partnerships with e-commerce platforms and adjacent technology providers that expand Wix's reach into new merchant segments and geographies
  • Navigate complex commercial models including revenue share, referral arrangements, co-marketing structures, and API/product integrations across diverse partner types
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations with C-suite and senior decision-makers, managing long deal cycles across multiple stakeholders and partner categories
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Finance, and the broader Channels team to ensure partnerships translate into measurable business outcomes including GPV, new user acquisition, and revenue growth
  • Travel 30–40% of the time to partner headquarters and industry events to build relationships and accelerate deal timelines
  • Report directly to senior leadership, owning your pipeline, partner portfolio, and KPIs end-to-end

This is a fully remote position. East Coast candidates preferred.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or ecosystem development — with a track record spanning two or more of the following: financial services, payments, SaaS, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, digital agencies, or high-volume SMB platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and close partnerships that deliver high-volume user or merchant acquisition — whether through e-commerce platform integrations, marketplace distribution, agency networks, dropshipping platforms, or SMB-focused ecosystems
  • Experience structuring and managing e-commerce platform partnerships, including technical integrations, co-sell arrangements, and joint go-to-market programs targeting SMB merchants
  • Experience structuring and managing agency partnership programs, including large digital agencies or agency aggregators that resell or recommend platforms to SMB clients
  • Familiarity with marketplace dynamics and dropshipping ecosystems — understanding how these platforms acquire, retain, and monetise SMB sellers and how to build mutually compelling commercial arrangements
  • Deep understanding of the payments and fintech landscape — including relationships with banks, payment processors, and financial institutions — and how to structure partnerships within it
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS ecosystem partnerships, including product integrations, co-sell motions, and platform affiliate and channel programs
  • Experience working with or partnering alongside companies such as Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, Xero, Square, Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Amazon, Faire, or comparable fintech, e-commerce, or marketplace platforms
  • Strong commercial acumen — able to model partnership economics, negotiate multi-year revenue share structures, and understand downstream financial impact
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder deals with C-suite executives across long sales cycles
  • Experience driving partnerships in SMB-focused platforms or commerce ecosystems is a strong advantage
  • Breadth of vertical experience is valued over depth in any single sector — we're looking for partnership builders with broad commercial instincts and the ability to move fluidly across categories
