Job Description
The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting, reporting, and financial control activities for our U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries. This role reports to the US Head of Finance and works closely with the local leadership team to ensure compliance with local regulations while delivering accurate and timely financial information to global headquarters.
Key responsibilities:
Financial reporting and consolidation:
Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Prepare and publish financial statements and management reports in compliance with US GAAP.
Ensure the consolidation of financial results from the local entity into the global reporting system.
Budgeting and forecasting:
Lead the preparation of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts for the assigned entity or region.
Conduct detailed variance analysis to explain differences between actual results, budget, and forecasts.
Provide financial insights and data-driven recommendations to local and global leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Compliance and internal controls:
Maintain our internal control framework to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and other relevant statutory requirements.
Serve as the primary liaison for all external audit activities for the local entity.
Technical accounting and systems:
Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues related to the software industry, such as software revenue recognition (ASC 606), and document the company's position in technical accounting memos.
Oversee the implementation and optimization of financial systems, specifically AI related, to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Cross-border operations:
Manage complexities associated with multi-currency operations, intercompany transactions, and international tax strategies.
Collaborate effectively with the global corporate finance team to align on accounting policies, processes, and reporting procedures.
Leadership and management:
Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performing local accounting team.
Foster a collaborative environment and act as a key business partner to local department heads (sales, marketing, operations).
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including month-end close, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master’s degree (MBA or MAcc) preferred.
Big 4 public accounting experience is required; CPA certification is highly preferred, though not mandatory.
Experience in a global SaaS or high-growth technology environment, with knowledge of subscription revenue models and ASC 606.
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; SAP or Oracle also acceptable) and Excel/Google Sheets.
Strong technical accounting skills, including the ability to research and document complex accounting issues.
Leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Comfortable operating in a multinational setting, including multi-currency and cross-border operations.
At this time we are seeking NY-based candidates or candidates who can commute to our office in New York City. Our employees work in a flexible hybrid model and are expected to be in the office 3 times per week.

Expected base compensation salary range $150,000 - $180,000. In addition to base pay you will receive company RSUs as part of the compensation package.
Final package may vary and will be determined by various factors including location the role is expected to be performed, shift, candidate profile and ideal qualifications.
