Job Description
Driven by WithinReach’s vision, mission, values and strategic priorities, the Communications and Outreach Manager (COM) is responsible for increasing awareness of our work through consistent messaging and content strategy, and by engaging community partners around our work. The COM will act as a key storyteller, working collaboratively across teams and building our capacity to advance communication and outreach strategies.

Qualifications
Responsibilities and Duties
External Communications (45%)
- Take our Help Me Grow work to the next level by developing and managing communications and outreach strategies that are in alignment with the systems team and a growing network of community partners and providers across the state.
- Develop and implement communications and outreach strategies to grow awareness about our services statewide.
- Lead the content creation for a variety of communications channels, with a focus on developing new content for parents for social media, email newsletters and our website for parents.
- Ensure that strategies, materials and interactions are culturally responsive, respectful and based on the foundation of WithinReach’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Outreach and Relationship-Building (30%)
- Organize speaking engagements and represent WithinReach in community spaces with partners.
- Incorporate authentic storytelling in our communications by working alongside the direct service team to deeply understand our work.
- Network and support bidirectional relationship-building with community-based organizations serving marginalized communities. Build trust by honoring the wisdom of their families and communities.
Project Management (25%)
- Collaborate across teams and with external partners to support and guide outreach strategy for contracts, initiatives and new funding. Assess and pilot new projects when needed.
- Lead the engagement of internal staff and external parents and partners around the revamp of our most popular website, ParentHelp123.org, with focus groups, workshops and user testing.
- Execute roll-out communications for the website launch with partners and the public.
- Use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive strategic decisions.
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of management experience·
- A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, partnership development and outreach
- Strong knowledge of and experience developing and leading communications and outreach strategies to support organizational priorities and drive outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to visualize solutions and map and manage the process to achieve impact
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with external partners; demonstrated cross-team collaboration that contributes to a positive team environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; confident in presentation and public speaking abilities
- Leads and engages in strategic problem solving, planning and decision-making
- Ability to adapt and brainstorm for new initiatives and support evolving priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to videoconference on Teams and Zoom; familiarity with WordPress and Constant Contact preferred
- Experience working with and supporting BIPOC and low-income communities preferred; lived experience deeply valued
- Bilingual and multilingual skills valued
Additional Information
Salary & Benefits: $68,000-$72,000, Full-Time, 40 hours/week. Exempt. Excellent benefits include fully paid medical coverage, vision and dental for employees and generous coverage for spouses, partners and dependents. Paid time off, monthly internet and phone stipend, flexible work arrangements, matching retirement contributions.
