Job Description

This is an awesome opportunity to work for us within our Logistics division rotating across three
of our core business units: Development, Investment and Asset Management. Not sure what
these departments do? Haven’t thought about a role in these areas but have the essential skills
and passion? We want to hear from you!


The 2-year rotational programme will begin with an engaging learning and development
induction, building your capability and confidence alongside learning about the key rotations, St
Modwen and the Logistics division. You will get 3 rotations across:


Development - To support and assist senior members of the team in the identification of
development opportunities and managing the development of individual phases in line with
business unit strategy.


Investment - Supporting and underwriting new investment opportunities as part of the
Investment Team.


Asset Management - Support delivery of strategic management of the standing logistics
portfolio; including setting strategy, budgets and driving asset performance.

In these rotations what will you get exposure to?
Across these three teams you will get exposure to a vast array of activities, building a strong set
of skills in each remit, learning where your strengths lie, supporting the teams and to in the long
term specialise in your preferred and strongest areas. You will get exposure to the below and
much more:

  • Development: Assisting with the implementation of the business unit strategy for the acquisition, development, and leasing schemes.
  • Development: Assisting with the identification of new development opportunities in line with the business unit strategy.
  • Development: Liaising with professional including solicitors, consultants, contractors, clients, and colleagues.
  • Development: Supporting in the management of development of site(s) (or phase) to the agreed programme and business plan. Working alongside planning, external bodies to achieve planning permission, generating development briefs, instigating and reviewing design proposals.
  • Investment: contributing to the growth of our portfolio through the acquisition of standing investment assets and improving the performance of our portfolio.
  • Investment: Supporting the proactive sourcing of on and off market investment opportunities.
  • Investment: Supporting the underwriting and appraisals of new opportunities as part of the acquisition process.
  • Investment: Developing your industry contacts within and outside of the business and also provide regular market updates to the business.
  • Asset Management: proactively managing and delivering returns from a 1.4bn standing logistics portfolio.
  • Asset Management: Supporting the delivery of strategy, working closely with finance to appraise returns and deliver compelling strategic decisions to enhance the value of our assets through proactive management.
  • Asset Management: Implementing the business plan for assets and target outperformance in relation to key financial targets.
  • Asset Management: Engaging with the underwriting process and supporting the efficient transfer of information between asset and investment teams.
  • All rotations: Supporting with reporting, and analysis of performance across all rotations.

Qualifications

  • A Finance, Business, RICS accredited or Relevant degree
  • Full Valid UK Driving Licence (not essential but can make travel to our sites easier)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills including negotiating and networking
  • Effective written communication and the desire to learn report writing in more detail
  • Comfortable with numbers and with excellent analytical ability

  • A starting salary of £28,000 with a monthly car allowance
