Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Engineer to join our growing development team in Sydney, Australia. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative products. You will be responsible for writing clean, efficient code and contributing to the continuous improvement of our development processes.

  • Design and develop software applications using industry-standard programming languages and frameworks
  • Write clean, maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices
  • Analyze requirements and translate them into technical specifications and implementation plans
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand project requirements and deliver solutions
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through testing and deployment
  • Maintain organized documentation of code, architecture decisions, and technical specifications
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, JavaScript, or Go
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
  • Solid knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and development methodologies
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with code review processes and quality assurance practices
  • Ability to write unit tests and understand testing best practices
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Preferred: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Preferred: Experience with relational and non-relational databases (SQL, NoSQL)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of API development and integration
  • Preferred: Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Preferred: Understanding of microservices architecture
