Job Description
As a Banking Operations Specialist, you are the backbone of our banking partnerships. Your core purpose is to ensure the flawless, high-quality execution of time-sensitive operational tasks that are critical to the foundation of our banking governance and compliance. You are a reliable and detail-oriented expert who manages the end-to-end operational lifecycle for our banking partners. This role is essential for maintaining strong relationships, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities:
- Access & Signatory Management: Independently manage banking partner access and signatory requests from start to finish, keeping records accurate and up to date in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Audit Support: Prepare documentation and evidence for audits and control reviews, and follow through on assigned actions to address findings.
- Partner Due Diligence: Coordinate annual due diligence requests from banking partners, gathering documentation from relevant teams, including Compliance. Maintain accurate records and ensure responses meet agreed deadlines and internal requirements.
- Banking Portal Onboarding & Controls: Onboard new banking portals, help assess risks and check that required controls are in place. Work with banking partners and internal teams to address gaps and strengthen controls.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve banking governance queries and operational issues. Escalate complex cases to the relevant teams and track them through to resolution.
- Internal Collaboration: Act as a key contact for Banking, Payment Operations and other internal teams, providing clear information and timely updates to resolve issues and support ongoing projects.
- Documentation & Knowledge Management: Maintain the Partner Bank Directory, procedures and other key documentation so teams can easily find accurate information and keep operations running smoothly.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and work with the team to implement changes that improve efficiency, accuracy and compliance.
- Operational Readiness: Stay informed about changes to processes, policies and regulatory requirements, and apply them to your day-to-day work.
Qualifications
- Operational experience: at least 3-5 years of experience in banking, fintech or another complex operational environment, managing detailed work and competing deadlines.
- Risk and controls: Ability to follow policies, identify control gaps and recognise when to escalate risks or request guidance.
- Data and tools: Confidence using spreadsheets and data management tools to organise information, check accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
- Attention to detail: A consistent approach to maintaining accurate records and complete documentation.
- Problem solving: Ability to investigate issues, work through unfamiliar requirements and follow tasks through to resolution.
- Stakeholder communication: Experience communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders, including banking partners, to gather information, resolve blockers and meet deadlines.
- Ownership and prioritisation: Ability to manage your workload independently, prioritise time-sensitive or higher-risk tasks and communicate early when something is blocked.
Nice to have
- Experience with banking portals, access permissions or authorised signatory management.
- Experience supporting due diligence requests, audits or control reviews.
- Familiarity with access controls, such as approval permissions and segregation of duties.
- Experience working directly with banking partners to resolve issues or improve processes.
- Familiarity with payment systems or financial reconciliation tools.
- A relevant qualification or certification in banking, compliance or operational risk.
