Job Description

The Principal Engineer, Integrated Management System and Quality Compliance plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organization's commitment to delivering high-quality products and services, maintaining customer trust, and driving continuous improvement in quality-related processes.  This role requires the incumbent to combine their experience in management systems with knowledge of WireCo’s unique and critical product requirements.  Additionally, a combination of strategic thinking, technical expertise, and effective leadership must be used to create a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization, aligned to WireCo’s Business System (WBS).

The position must be located at the Prairie Village World Headquarters or a WireCo steel manufacturing facility.   

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Create an integrated management strategy and systems:
    • Cooperate with the Global leaders for Safety, Health, and Environmental concerns to create and manage an integrated management system which includes HSE and Quality processes
    • Lead the identification and definition of key process indicators and metrics for Quality
    • Collaborate with FP&A and Data Governance to capture and report key process indicators
    • Use the data to inform decisions for process improvements, capital expenditures, staffing, inspections, and testing
  2. Compliance:
    • Create certification and accreditation strategies for the steel division
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of ISO quality management systems, including robust tiered document strategies, document control, and internal audit protocols to ensure compliance across the business
    • Leverage experience to ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and certifications applicable to steel product manufacturing
  3. Product Information Management (PIM)
    • Develop, implement, and manage WireCo’s Steel Division Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. This cross-functional stage gate process governs the development of new technologies, new products, line extensions, engineer-to-order, and capability extension products.
    • Develop or select and implement a system for a global Product Data / Information management including a global numbering system.
    • Partner with Product Management and Data Governance to integrate the global numbering system into the various ERP systems and associated data analytics tools.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Relevant experience (7-10 years) in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of successfully creating and managing highly talented, engaged and high-performing teams
  • Global perspective and experience working in an international context
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and ISO quality management systems.
  • Proven track record of driving quality improvement initiatives and managing corrective actions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across departments and regions.
  • Analytical mindset with the capability to leverage data for informed decision-making.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant technology products
  • Valid driver's license and passport required for business travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Engineering or related field
  • Professional certifications in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt) highly desirable
  • Proficiency in multiple languages
  • Professional Engineering licensure
