Winsupply Sourcing Services (WSS) operates ~2 million square feet of wholesaling warehouse space, while offering inventory and vendor management solutions, to be the premier vendor partner for our customer base.  

Our customer base consists of aspiring entrepreneurs who own and operate their own wholesale distribution businesses, now over 670 businesses nationwide.  Therefore, this job provides the opportunity to have a direct impact in the success of entrepreneurial small businesses across the United States, and in particular, those that rely on WSS to improve their inventory turnover.  WSS transacts with vendors and customers nearly three quarters of a million times in a given fiscal year.  In this role, you will work with our vendor and carrier partners to schedule all inbound shipments into our distribution centers, integrating procurement feedback on prioritized receiving.

Key Job Responsibilities

Receiving Department Expertise

  • Build relationships with key contacts within receiving departments and leadership of distribution centers (DCs) of the assigned service sector.
  • Leverage WSS team knowledge and understanding, as well as professional resources, to understand receiving and building capacity of each DC by industry, item type, and material handling equipment.
  • Develop scheduling platform across multiple shifts that is flexible by number/type of items receivable daily, as well as fixed appointments for key vendors and emergency appointments for high priority shipments.
  • Understand systems to access advanced ship notifications (ASNs) and establish ASNs for all vendors.

Inbound Scheduling & Transfer Facilitation

  • Work with Sourcing Procurement to understand priority list of all purchase orders, ranked by importance of PO to timeliness of receipt – considering transfer trucks, backorder filling, and days on hand of items.
  • Schedule all inbound carrier deliveries for each distribution center within assigned service sector, ensuring up to 36-hour advanced scheduling unless emergency appointment is utilized.
  • Facilitate purchase orders and sales orders within system to effectuate transfers between DCs identified by Procurement Specialists, Purchasing Support Specialists, and Sourcing Data Analytics.

Metric Maintenance

  • Maintain metrics on inbound receiving scheduling in comparison to purchase order priority list and vendor lead times; further measure DC put away metrics with use of internal reporting.
  • Support Team Leads, Vendor Solutions on other metrics requiring compilation upon request.
  • Hold oneself to WSS service standards; represent WSS and Vendor Success team to external partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field. In lieu of degree, relevant experience considered. Proficient with office technology and software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in wholesale industry.
  • Logistics and/or warehouse experience.
