Job Description

The Branch Manager is responsible for directing and supervising the staff and day-to-day operations of the branch. The manager ensures exceptional member service and helps the branch achieve sales and productivity goals by promoting credit union products and services. Essential Functions

  • Lead and Manage Branch Operations:
    • Ensure production goals for deposits, fee income, loan production, and member service are met or exceeded.
  • Mentor and Develop Staff:
    • Use relationship selling techniques to grow member relationships.
    • Regularly observe, track, and assess employee skills, providing ongoing training.
    • Enhance performance through goal setting, coaching, problem resolution, delegation, and performance management, including conducting staff meetings, performance reviews, and daily check-ins.
  • Interview and Hire Staff: Select employees with exceptional sales and service skills.
  • Resolve Member Issues:
    • Address escalated member questions and concerns promptly to maintain service quality, accuracy, and efficiency, while managing risk, making and approving policy and procedure exceptions within assigned limits.
  • Ensure Compliance: Adhere to regulatory standards, internal controls, and operational policies. Address audit, security, and compliance issues promptly.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
    • Implement strategies to achieve financial objectives.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing and scheduling to meet member service expectations and operational objectives.
  • Provide Notarial Services: Witness and authenticate documents and verify member identities.
  • Liaison Between Branch and Support Departments:
    • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with all lines of business to ensure customer relationship building through cross-selling efforts and referrals.
  • Community Outreach: Participate in community activities to attract new members, maintain existing relationships, and ensure a positive brand image.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and provide training to employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Bank Secrecy Act: Remains cognizant of and adheres to Wings policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D., required
  • 3+ years of experience within the banking or financial services industry, required
  • 2+ years prior leadership experience, required

Technical or Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Advanced level of demonstrated branch and financial services knowledge and a working knowledge of other areas within the credit union. Knowledge of credit union products, policies, and procedures and of Credit Union rules or regulations.
  • Proven sales leadership skills with the ability to evaluate individual strengths and weaknesses and utilize coaching and counseling skills to help employees reach their full potential.
  • Proficient in delivering high-quality service while performing multiple tasks efficiently under deadlines and stress, maintaining a professional and mature profile.
  • Act with a sense of urgency to address issues and engage teams for resolution.
  • Proven ability to develop, set, and communicate measurable goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills for working with internal and external customers.
  • Strong skills in facilitating meetings and effective communication in various settings, including one-on-one, small and large groups, and among diverse styles and position levels.
  • Working knowledge of computer software (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office).
  • Encourages the open expression of diverse ideas and opinions.
  • Track record of anticipating future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies.
  • Known for holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • Proven ability to create a climate where people are motivated to do their best to help the organization achieve its objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Certifications Required:

  • Required to obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan Originator unique qualifier (NMLS registration number). Must have the ability to successfully complete all MLO registry requirements, including passing background and credits checks and submitting to fingerprinting and to any other requirements of the rules enacted pursuant to the S.A.F.E. Act. required
  • Notary license required

Additional Information

PAY RANGE:  $78,000 to 90,000 annually (S15), plus incentives and 5% annual target bonus.
Final compensation for this position will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, certifications, location and internal pay equity.
