Job Description

Wilshire’s Portfolio Management team works within the Investment Solutions team to deliver strong risk-adjusted investment results for a wide range of financial intermediaries and institutional clients, primarily utilizing traditional investments offered through mutual funds and ETFs. The team provides a wide range of services to clients, including strategic and dynamic asset allocation and underlying manager selection, and investment manager pairing/structuring.

We have a wide range of clients, who include retirement plans, 529 plans, broker-dealers, insurance companies, asset managers and corporate pension plans. Ultimately, the typical underlying beneficiary is not a Wall Street titan, but rather a dental hygienist, a young adult about to enter college, a family preparing for retirement or the like. Americans are generally underprepared for their long-term financial needs and our team endeavors to improve the investment outcomes for millions of underlying beneficiaries.

What you’ll do: 

Work closely with senior portfolio managers in overseeing the investment portion of client relationships across a range of financial intermediary and OCIO clients.

  • (50%) Assist senior portfolio managers with the construction and review of portfolio allocation models
  • (30%) Produce written summaries/commentary for clients and fund and portfolio level detail reports, including performance reports, attribution, risk statistics, etc.
  • (20%) Schedule and participate in regularly scheduled due diligence meetings and conference calls with investment managers

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience 
  • BA/BS in finance, economics, or related studies with strong academic credentials required
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication to understand and convey instructions and information clearly
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities, work independently or collaboratively as needed, and handle unexpected challenges
  • Team player with a passion for investment management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and interest in expanding quantitative and analytical skills
  • CFA-designation and/or MBA preferred

  • This position will work on a hybrid model out of our Santa Monica or Pittsburgh offices

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000/year. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis considering various factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience. The total compensation package includes eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus and a full range of health and financial benefits, which will be provided in conjunction with an offer of employment.
