Wills & Trusts Legal offer our clients a dedicated legal administration support service, taking clients through the probate and trust administration journey. With the ongoing expansion of Wills & Trusts Legal we are currently recruiting for a Probate Solicitor to join our team.

As a Probate Solicitor you will support, advise and guide clients through the probate process as well as coordinate the collecting in or transferring of Estate assets, paying all liabilities and Inheritance Tax (IHT) and then distributing the net estate to the beneficiaries of the Will (or to the next of kin if there is no Will). You will be working with a variety of new clients as we expand the range of services we offer to clients that are part of the wider W&T group as well as support our existing W&T Legal client base.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Partnering with our team of Financial Advisers you will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of financial planning meetings, specifically regarding legal recommendations for Client presentations
• Booking, facilitation and follow-up of all W&T Legal client meetings, with administrative support from the team.
• Preparation of meeting notes and fact-finding documentation
• Ensuring that all Client requirements are followed through to the appropriate conclusion
• Coordinating the collecting in or transferring of the Estate assets, paying all liabilities and any Inheritance Tax (IHT) and then distributing the net estate to the beneficiaries of the Will
• Maintaining up to date records, communications & documents relating to individual cases on the provided technical/CRM systems
• Managing an ongoing review service appropriate to the Client’s needs in line with the business’s proposition offering
• Preparing and registering Lasting Power of Attorney’s
• Supporting the acquisition of new clients to ensure that company targets are achieved along with the maintenance of our current client base
• Retain deceased Clients Funds Under Management (FUM) within the Advanced Investment Strategy
• Ensure that any business conducted is done so in a responsible and compliant manner, meeting all legislative requirements, both internally and externally.
• Promote the profile of the business within the profession and wider communities

Our ideal applicant will be a qualified Solicitor with relevant probate experience and solid academics. You will be a client focused individual that is passionate about providing a professional service and capable of putting our clients’ needs first during a particularly sensitive time. As you will be responsible for ensuring Wills & Trusts are compliant in line with SRA requirements it is also imperative that you are up to date with relevant legislation and keen to further develop your knowledge and experience.
