Job Description
At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact.
The structures department drives car design forward ensuring components are safe while extracting the maximum performance available. We verify that designs meet FIA and internal criteria working with multiple departments to achieve the optimum for all.
On this 12-month placement you help analyse components and assemblies from across the car, making sure they meet safety criteria while keeping weight to a minimum. Working in the structures department, you sit between many teams, balancing different constraints and requirements. You influence designs from the first concepts through to the small details.
- Assist with the analysis of vehicle components
- Give clear, relevant feedback to design stakeholders
- Collaborate with departments to integrate new technologies, showing teamwork
- Work with engineers and project managers to meet technical requirements, showing accountability
- Take part in Early Careers learning, both in your team and centrally
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
- Working towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, Marine or a related engineering discipline
- CAD (computer-aided design) skills, though training is provided
