Job Description

Role Purpose (Job Profile):     

Support the manager in the day to day running of the programming team by providing technical expertise and critical thinking to achieve production and quality targets. 

Main Duties: 

  • Attend daily OPM’s and prioritise tasks and outstanding actions.  

  • Monitor and check component quality.  

  • Monitor productivity and resources to optimise asset utilisation and reduce lead-times.  

  • Ensure department adherence to business-critical process data capture requirements across all Atlassian Williams systems, such as the Time-Evaluation System (TES) and the Manufacturing Execution System (MESTEC). 

  • Ensure day-to-day targets and priorities are understood by the team to drive a collective delivery strategy. 

  • Ensure accurate shift handover notes.  

  • Monitor NCR’s and implement robust changes to reduce our NCR rate / address root causes.  

  • Collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of CAM solutions. 

  • Monitor KPI’s for productivity within the department and enact measures as required to achieve.  

  • Ensure all shift personnel are proficient in the use of production supporting hardware and software packages to support full process adherence and data capture.  

  • Strong Understanding and knowledge of CAM Software NX 

  • Program/Production Engineer manufacturing solutions using NX CAM and VERICUT Software. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in CAM software and technologies and implement necessary changes.

  • Ability to lead and develop programmers, machinist and manufacturing engineers in best practice.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage high-pressure decision-making under tight deadlines.  

  • Ability to reprioritise production based on race updates / demand.  

  • Expert in NX CAM and VERICUT simulation software 

  • Ability to train other in CAM principles. 

Qualifications and Experience Level: 

  • Be technically knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and methods. 

  • Strong understanding of complex NX CAM and VERICUT. 

  • Experience in linking design intent to manufacturability, ensuring “right first time” machining.  

  • Experience in managing a team is desirable.
