About the Role 

WildBrain CPLG Korea is looking for a Licensing Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Regional Director – Japan & Korea, this role will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing commercial strategies that support revenue growth, brand expansion, and long-term partner success in Korea. 

This position is suited to an independent, hands-on professional with strong licensing experience, strategic thinking, and the drive to move projects forward from initial opportunity identification through negotiation, launch, retail execution, and ongoing account growth. The successful candidate will be expected to think ahead, identify and solve issues proactively, build strong relationships, and manage complex projects with ownership and accountability. 

Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Achieve annual revenue and growth targets by identifying, pitching, negotiating, and securing new licensing partners.
  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned licensors, licensees, and key partners, building trusted relationships that drive long-term business growth.
  • Own and manage the full licensing lifecycle, including business development, contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, product approvals, retail execution, and partner management.
  • Develop and execute commercial growth strategies based on market analysis, consumer trends, competitive insights, and retail opportunities.
  • Partner with the Regional Commercial Director to support annual business planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic reviews.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and ensure deal terms align with company objectives and licensor requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Product Development, Brand Management, Retail, and other key stakeholders to streamline contract execution and deliver successful go-to-market plans.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities by expanding the licensing partner network and developing untapped market opportunities.
  • Monitor commercial performance, retailer activity, and market trends to drive revenue growth, optimize product strategies, and strengthen brand positioning.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and business reporting through CRM and internal business management systems.
  • Contribute to an entrepreneurial, innovative, and collaborative culture while supporting the continued growth of the Korea business.

Qualifications

  • At least around 10 years of experience in licensing, sales, business development, brand management, or a related commercial function. Direct licensing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the licensing business, including business development, commercial negotiations, contract management, product approvals, retail execution, and partner relationship management.
  • Experience working with international companies and cross-functional, multicultural teams is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, relationship-building, and networking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail combined with a hands-on approach and strategic mindset.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to take ownership, prioritize effectively, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resilience, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and identify practical solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel required.
