Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain and Production leads and participates in the organization's overall supply chain operations, including purchasing and inventory of raw materials, selection and management of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. This also includes production planning, coordination and control of manufacturing processes. You'll make sure goods and services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality. Also responsible for evaluates past performance data to inform and predict future needs and production scheduling. Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

  • Lead the design, construction and continuous improvement of a facility environment that optimizes production

 

Production

  • Develop and execute on continuous improvement strategies in collaboration with and support of the COO

  • Commit to and meet agreed upon level of production output that aligns to customer success

  • Develop and execute strategies and processes to support organization quality goals

     

    Supply Chain

  • Identify, procure, and maintain vendor agreements and relationships holding our vendors to accountable to contract terms

  • Develop and execute on continuous improvement strategies in collaboration with and support of the COO

  • Commit to and meet an agreed upon purchasing timelines and cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 10 years plus relevant experience (e.g. manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, planning)

  • 5 years plus team leadership/direct report experience

  • Hands-on and operationally broad experience in building an Operations organization and providing vision, leadership and guidance.

  • Has created or transformed operations in a start-up or new product introduction environment where there is a significant acceleration requirement and risk

  • Pragmatic use of methods and metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational maturity

  • Experience in actualizing the benefits of newer and better Operations systems and tools

  • Proven experience in vendor management and developing/implementing innovating supplier agreements

  • Agile Mindset – the ability to work in an iterative manner that allows for rapid prototyping, effective feedback loops, and the ability to meet aggressive timelines

  • Adaptability – maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in tactical or strategic direction

Other Favorable Experience

  • Master’s degree

  • 2 years plus Enterprise Agile experience

  • SAFe Agile Certification

  • Lean Six Sigma Certification and/or experience

  • Designing/remodeling and overseeing construction of a new production facility

  • Experience in evolving from low yield/high repair to high yield
